On January 24, 2014, Apple celebrated “Thirty Years of Mac.” To commemorate the milestone, Apple released a 90-second video, which was shot completely on the iPhone 5S. Cinematographers used the i0S built-in Camera app and other film apps available in the App Store. 100 iPhones were used to shoot footage amounting in over 70 hours of footage. In one single day, across 15 separate locations around the world, Apple documented 45 stories sharing the remarkable things they do with the Mac and other Apple technology.

Happy Birthday, Mac!

Voicemails, voicemails, voicemails… Is there anyone who enjoys checking them? Animator, Dustin Grella, has made it his duty to turn dreaded voicemails into something more meaningful, artistically. Grella’s digital collection named “Animation Hotline” features a series of animations from crowd-sourced voicemail messages. Everyday, he chooses one voicemail as inspiration for his project. The outcome is a melting pot of short stories, rants, secrets and life lessons. The videos, found on Vimeo and YouTube, are quick chalk drawings that show how these random messages turn into colorful mini-movies!

Apps We Love: Vine

Vine has been making waves in the tech world, paving the way for consumers and marketers to create 6-second videos that are both engaging and innovative. How much can you really convey in such a short amount of time? These creators and storytellers show us that, as long as you’re fun and inventive, 6 seconds is enough time to leave a lasting impression.

Who knew Vine could be used as an animal adoption service? The New York Humane Society uploaded a 6-second clip of a cat, named Parker, who was adopted into a permanent home shortly after.

Some tech-savvy and visionary job hunters have been marketing their resumes like never before. Dawn Siff described her skills and her expertise in a few short seconds, but certainly also showcased her personality and humor as well. Her video led her to a couple of job leads since! Talk about making yourself stand out from the applicant pool.

Lastly, artists are having a field day with this new app. From Lego animations to origami folding, the possibilities are endless.

Mediabistro recently indentified ‘10 of the Best Brands on Vine’ including General Electric, Trident, Urban Outfitters and Walgreens. Do you think more brands will start using the service or is it just a fad?

Ever wonder what the weather is like in some of the world’s greatest, chicest and most metropolitan cities? How about which colors are currently trending?

That’s right - colors. Luckily for aesthetes everywhere, one site has combined the two concepts to provide live updates on which tones are predominant in Paris, Milan and Antwerp. Check out how the Color Forecast works in the video above.

Our only complaint: Let’s get New York in there! Although “Black” would likely be trending 24/7.

Apparently, YouTube has paid Hearst $10 million to create a series of social video channels full of content sourced from its magazines. Another example of how the bridge between print and digital editorial media is only getting stronger, rather than dilapidating as some critics have claimed - Hello Style is set to launch this Sunday, April 15th. Serving as a male foil to the fashion and beauty-heavy project, a Car & Driver channel is also set to launch on May 1st.

Remember when you were a little kid and you got bored so you built an entire full-scale arcade out of cardboard? Yeah, neither do we. Props to Caine.

Life is about the little things, right?

The best rapper of all time: JAY-Z. My favorite rapper: YOUNG JEEZY.

Just recently, Jeezy was seen spotted wearing the Team Epiphany x New Era “THINKING CAP" during his Hustlerz Ambition Tour’s LA stop.

Take a look at (:51), (1:36) and (1:37). This literally made my day!

In an alternate universe, Twitter was invented in the 1980s. See what it might have looked like. How’s that for a time warp?

Ville Vivante: Tracing One Day in the Life of Geneva’s Mobile Consumers

Taking the infographic to a new level, the City of Geneva decided to take on the challenge of visualizing digital traces created by citizens’ mobile phones. The objective of this installation is to (1) make this data visible and (2) allow people all over the world to explore these streams of connected Swiss workers. The result is quite striking.
