Friday, July 25 was an ordinary day for most, but for a select group of New Yorkers life took a turn, UP. The crew was draped in all white, the Moët Ice Impérial was flowing, and Complex and Team Epiphany had a little something special up their sleeves. Prior to sailing, Wiz Khalifa arose from the bottom level of the boat and surprised guests with an exclusive listening session of his upcoming LP, Blacc Hollywood.

Shortly after the intimate interaction with Wiz, the boat set sail and the real party was began. Partygoers took in the breathtaking views of New York City as DJ Wonder bumped the tunes culminating in a dance party that defied the time of day.

This #SUMMERFRIDAYS event raised the bar, making a weekend escape to the Hamptons irrelevant, and a Friday afternoon in the city well worth it. Guests went their separate ways wondering just one thing - what in the world could Team Epiphany do next summer to top this experience?

What do Eneuri Acosta (Influencer Marketing at Chevrolet), Ryan Leslie (Music Artist, Tech Entrepreneur), Eleanor Langston (Founder of Paintbox), Randy Brandoff (Founder of Eleven James), and Complex’s Noah Callahan-Bever all have in common? Besides the impressive titles accompanying their names, they co-hosted #SUMMERFRIDAYS Spark Sessions. Team Epiphany is proficient in turning up, however, for an hour of this #SUMMERFRIDAYS event, we turned down with a purpose. For an hour, those in attendance of Spark Sessions learned through the advice and experience the aforementioned panel had to offer. Once the Q&A finished up Drake’s “0 to 100” came to fruition, as DJ Wonder spun the party back to life in a matter of seconds.

Spark Sessions was very unique. The consistent qualities of a #SUMMERFRIDAYS event were apparent – an awesome venue (the Sky Room at the New Museum offered breathtaking views), the laughs and good times remained, but what really made it special was for an hour guests had an opportunity to learn from a special group of people whose advice was invaluable.

It has been five years since the inaugural #SUMMERFRIDAYS event series, and since then not much has changed. Team Epiphany has time and time again set the bar for innovative mid-Friday afternoon experiences.

Three weeks ago, the annual oasis like escape arrived once again, and Team Epiphany x Complex kicked off the summer season with a Caribbean Carnival-themed party.  The way above average New York stress level dropped for about four hours, as the Hennessy and Belvedere flowed and DJ Wonder and DJ Max Glazer spun festival tunes. If that was not enough, guests were greeted by a Caribbean Carnival dance group midway through the party.

Take a look at the video, feel slightly jealous and find a way to get to next #SUMMERFRIDAYS. It is going to be one for the record books.

TE’s NYC: #SUMMERFRIDAYS Brooklyn Luau

image

On Friday, June 7th, Team Epiphany launched its highly anticipated event series, #SummerFridays, sponsored by Pepsi. To kick-off the June event series, Team Epiphany hosted a “Brooklyn Luau” themed event at Brooklyn Terrace. The rain couldn’t deter guests from getting lei’d and enjoying ice-cold Pepsi, Hennessy and Grey Goose Cherry Noir cocktails. The crowd-pleasing soundtrack was provided by DJ Wonder.

It’s time for round two. This week we’re bringing you a house party, 1992 style. We’re elated to announce the return of our annual #SUMMERFRIDAYS series.

During the 60s, a profound office master had an epiphany – employees weren’t meant to sit in cubicles staring at typewriters all day. In the summer, with the shimmering sun and the Hampton’s ocean waves calling, productivity was close to zero. Hence, Summer Friday’s were born – a welcomed early start to longer summer weekends. 50 years later, not much has changed. Men and women still need a summer reprieve. While The Hamptons might be out of reach, finding new ways to enjoy New York City on an 80-degree Friday afternoon isn’t. We (with the help of a few others), provide a fun and exciting alternative.

This Friday’s party is the first of many. In conjunction with Culture Labs, the Brooklyn Luau will be sponsored by our good friends at Hennessy, Heineken, Grey Goose, Def Jam, and Pepsi.

Cheers to a great summer!
