Fifty states, Fifty Shades of Gray, 50 Cent, and now FIFTY (very) limited edition Public School x Nike Air Jordan 1s. Maxwell and Dao-Yi founded the “streetwear-high fashion” hybrid clothing line Public School in 2007, since then the company has gone on to win it’s fair share of awards and accolades. However, its latest shoe release may be one of the brands biggest feats. Special edition collaborative work with Nike Air Jordan is only reserved for clothing industry elites, and now Public School has it’s very own special edition pair.

If you need to brush up on your Air Jordan knowledge, artist Kevin Lyons has released a set of Air Jordan flashcards featuring a sketch of each shoe on one side, with the corresponding number on the other.  The set costs $25 and there’s a limited run of only 250 available.  The designer/illustrator is the former Design Director of Stussy and was Creative Director of Urban Outfitters from 2003 – 2007.  He also produces two clothing lines, Atlantis and Natural Born.

You’ve never seen sneakers like this before.

In his latest project, Sydney-based artist, Filfury, disassembles classic sneakers and reconstructs them into skulls and bugs. This project features the classic Air Jordan and a repurposed Nike silhouette.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane. Since 2003, Nike and EA Sports have collaborated on special edition sneakers. From the classic Air Force II to the most recent Nike Lunar TR1 collaboration, EA Sports has been aligned with the footwear maven for a long time. Recently, Sneaker News sat down with EA Sports’ VP of Brand Marketing, Chris Erb, to learn more about the longstanding relationship and future collaborations.

This week, EA Sports gifted various fashion media and influential sneaker aficionados the recent collaborative sneaker with NIKE — NCAA Football 13 Lunar TR1 sneaker. 

In tribute to NCAA Football 13’s cover star, Barry Sanders, and the former Oklahoma State’s running back’s alma mater’s signature colors, the recently launched EA Sports x Nike sneaker has an orange colorway, EA Sports branded tongue, and metallic gold highlights  with Sander’s image in both the insoles.

Gourmet x New York Magazine

Team Epiphany client Gourmet was recently highlighted in New York Magazine’s "Shop-A-Matic" feature. Focusing on quality kicks for the new year, the comprehensive list of footwear included both the classic Quattro S in mixed material black set on top of a gum sole as well as the Departed-inspired Dignan low-top. Expect more big things from Gourmet in 2012!

Hennessy wasn’t the only Team Epiphany client to get some love from Antenna Magazine this month. Included as part of a “Traveling Museum” editorial project showcasing the most innovative collaborations from the art, design, fashion and technology industries, Team Epiphany’s Pepsi co-branded products took center stage. The fresh Pepsi x Gourmet sneakers, sleek Pepsi x Republic bike, funky Pepsi x Dee & Ricky pin and high-utility Pepsi x Zero Halliburton hard luggage case were all included in Antenna’s 5-city festival exhibition.
