OUYA is an affordable gaming console built on Android that is set to disrupt the gaming industry forever. For the past month, OUYA has been collecting pledges on Kickstarter for the production of the console. With a record breaking biggest first day in the history of Kickstarter projects, OUYA reached it’s goal of $950,000 in less than 12 hours. Over 62,000 supporters raised over $8.59 million for the Android-based gaming console. The OUYA is expected to ship as early as March 2013.

What makes the OUYA unique? The console will cost about $100, OUYA encourages hacking, games are completely free and it will have a touchpad for games converting from mobile/tablet to TV.

The OUYA was designed by Yves Behar, the designer of the highly popular Jambox. For more information on OUYA, check out their Kickstarter page.
